The judge interprets and applies the law relating to the evidence presented by the lawyers representing the plaintiff and the defendant. But apart from his judicial duties the judge is still a human being, and if any person on trial presents him or her self in the best possible manner it will be noted by the judge, who may be influenced as a human being to favor you.

Influence on Judges.

It has been demonstrated that personal behavior in the courtroom can have a strong bearing as to the outcome of any case. It is essential that your demeanor, social etiquette, and manners are displayed in the best possible way at all times.

Remember that while it was possible for you to choose your own lawyer, that neither of you has any say in choosing who the judge will be. You may get a surprise when he or she appears and sits behind their bench. Be relaxed and keep calm, but be sure you are absolutely truthful and coherent in everything you may be called upon to say, and avoid making any form contradictory statements.

Any experienced judge has a good understanding of human psychology. Most judges can read people openly and gain insights into the character merely by observing the person and the way he or she speaks in court.

A good judge cannot be fooled easily, judges are aware of all the tricks played in court and know readily when a person is being truthful or is telling lies. If you make a bad impression on the judge there is no way you can recover the situation so it is wise to keep calm, maintain a level head, and be dressed in a respectful manner
